There is some slight separation at the top of the league now, but the rest is just as complicated as ever. Five teams have 1-2 conference records, and every team except Syracuse already has at least three losses. There is going to be a fight for the final few bowl spots that goes down to the wire in the Big East.
The good news is that the Champs Sports Bowl is almost guaranteed to be a Big East bowl in 2010. Notre Dame, at 4-5, would have to win out this season to go to Orlando, and the Irish have lost starting quarterback Dayne Crist for the season. They have given no indication that they can win three straight.
On to the projections:
BCS (Fiesta): Pittsburgh
Champs Sports: Syracuse
Meineke Car Care: West Virginia
New Era Pinstripe: Rutgers
Beef O' Brady's: South Florida
Home for the holidays: Cincinnati, Connecticut
