Texas Tech has accepted a bid to the TicketCity Bowl.
The Red Raiders will face Northwestern in the Cotton Bowl at the State Fairgrounds of Texas on Jan. 1, 2011.
The inaugural TicketCity Bowl was birthed after the Cotton Bowl moved to Cowboys Stadium for the first time last season.
"I am so proud of this team and group of seniors for getting us to the postseason,” Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville said in a release. "When you come to play football at Texas Tech, you expect to go to a bowl game and we are thrilled to accept the invitation from Tom Starr and the Ticket City Bowl selection committee."
The Red Raiders are the only team in the Big 12 to reach a bowl game in every year of the conference's existence. The game will also be Texas Tech's second at the Cotton Bowl this season. Tuberville's team beat Baylor 45-38 in the stadium earlier this year.
