Here's a quick trip around the ACC:

  • With two new coordinators, Miami coach Randy Shannon has the toughest job in the ACC heading into his third year.

  • John Lovett got a vote of confidence from former Clemson coach Tommy Bowden, who hired Lovett as his defensive coordinator in 2002.

  • Former Georgia Tech offensive tackle Andrew Gardner is hoping the torn labrum in his shoulder heals in time to impress some NFL scouts before the draft.

  • UNC will need to win seven games in 2009 to become bowl eligible since it just scheduled a second FCS team.

  • Could Maryland have found a bigger name than James Franklin to succeed Ralph Friedgen as head coach? Not if history tends to repeat itself in College Park.

  • FSU cornerback Patrick Robinson is ready to be a leader on the Noles' defense.
