Wake Forest has announced 14 players in its 2011 signing class.
The signing class consists of players from six states including six from Florida, three from North Carolina and two from Texas. The Demon Deacons also gained commitments from players in Georgia, Maryland and South Carolina.
Offensively, Wake Forest added eight players including two running backs, two wide receivers, a quarterback and three linemen. On defense, the Deacons signed six players including two defensive linemen, three linebackers and a defensive back.
“This is a group that is highlighted by good character and athletic ability,” coach Jim Grobe said in a prepared statement. “We specifically recruited each player to fit the needs of our offensive and defensive schemes. This is a class that will be a good fit for Wake Forest both on and off the field. I am excited about the future of our program with these young men competing on Saturdays for the Deacs.”
