Non-BCS links: Mountain West proposes BCS reform

• The Mountain West released its proposal for BCS reform Wednesday. Essentially, the proposal recommends an eight-team playoff.

• Notre Dame 2010 commit Chris Martin is thinking of transferring schools. Martin, a 6-foot-4, 224-pound linebacker from Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, Calif.), is thinking of transferring to The Hun School in Princeton, N.J., for his senior year.

• New Wyoming coach Dave Christensen is already off to a good start and he hasn't even coached a game yet.

• Florida International is hoping to use last year's 5-7 finish as a steppingstone heading into the beginning of spring practice.

• Akron opened practice with a couple of former head coaches with seasoned backgrounds.
