Jarboe's eligibility in question

New Troy receiver Josh Jarboe has started practicing with the team, but it's unclear whether he will be eligible to play this season.

Troy is waiting for Oklahoma to decide whether Jarboe was admitted to the school before he was dismissed from the team. If Jarboe was admitted, he would have to sit out the season. If not, he could play for the Trojans this year.

Troy officials did not know when the school would hear back about Jarboe's eligibility, but said he would practice as if he were preparing for the team's opener at Middle Tennessee State.

Jarboe will not be permitted to do interviews for awhile, a Troy spokeperson said, to allow him to get acclimated to both the team and school.

Jarboe was dismissed from Oklahoma last week after a homemade rap video found its way onto YouTube. Troy announced yesterday that Jarboe would be joining the team.
