Syracuse will open the season on Thursday night, Sept. 1., against Wake Forest -- the first Thursday night season-opener in school history.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. and will be available on ESPN3, giving the Orange three national broadcasts.
“To host a Thursday night football game is a terrific way for the university and the community to start the Labor Day weekend before enjoying all of the other activities the area and the region have to offer,” athletic director Daryl Gross said in a statement.
Syracuse has two other non-Saturday games on the schedule for now, a Friday night home game against West Virginia on Oct. 21 and a Friday night home game against USF on Nov. 11.
NOTE: The school initially sent out a release that said this was the first Thursday night home game in school history. But Syracuse previously hosted a Thursday night game in 1989.
