ATHENS, Ga. -- After warming up in his game pants more than hour before the game, wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell dressed and warmed up with Georgia's first team just before kickoff.
He worked in and out with the first-team offense, but didn't seem to be favoring his leg at all. Hamstring injuries have a way of creeping up during games, so it will be something to keep an eye on today.
Also, Georgia and the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame will jointly honor former Bulldog Jake Scott with an NFF Hall of Fame On-Campus Salute today.
Scott was a consensus All-American safety for the Bulldogs in 1968. A two-time first-team All-SEC pick, Scott led the SEC in interceptions in 1967 and 1968. His 16 career interceptions remain a school record, and he is one of three players in SEC history to return two picks for touchdowns in the same game. During Georgia's 1968 SEC title run, he intercepted 10 passes (tied for a second-most in school history) and compiled 440 punt return yards, which ranks fourth in school history.
Scott becomes the 12th Georgia player to be inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
