We're continuing to get you ready for the fall -- even in the midst of a summer heat wave -- by previewing each Big Ten team's Week 1 opponent. Ohio State will be playing a team that's close by but isn't really in the same ballpark. What's in store for Urban Meyer's first game in the 'Shoe?

Week 1 Opponent: Miami (Ohio)

Coach: Don Treadwell (second year, 4-8)

2011 record: 4-8 (3-5 MAC)

Returning starters: 16 (nine offense, seven defense)

About the Redhawks: Former Michigan State offensive coordinator Treadwell returned to his alma mater last year as head coach, but despite returning 17 starters off a 10-win team in 2010, the Redhawks struggled. They averaged a disappointing 21 points per game and were the worst rushing team in the FBS, producing fewer than 74 yards per game on the ground. They also gave up more sacks than all but one team in the country. The offense started to play a little better late in the year, and quarterback Zac Dysert threw for 3,513 yards and 23 touchdowns. He should leave Miami as the school's all-time passing leader. The nucleus of the offense returns, and Treadwell brought in a new defensive coordinator in Jay Peterson. Miami figures to be improved in Year Two under Treadwell, but by how much.

Random factoid: Treadwell got his first coaching job under Jim Tressel at Youngstown State and was offensive coordinator for the Penguins' 1991 national championship team.

Series with Ohio State: The Buckeyes lead 4-0 and won the last meeting 34-14 in 2005.

Totally unscientific percentage chance Ohio State wins: 98.8 percent. Miami will be fired up to face the powerhouse in its own state, but the weaknesses in the Redhawks' game -- a poor rushing attack and leaky pass protection -- don't bode well against what should be an outstanding Ohio State defensive front. The Buckeyes aren't going to falter in Meyer's debut unless something truly weird happens.video
