Another week has gone by and another SEC team his unveiled new uniforms for the 2012 season.
This time, it was Mississippi State, as the Bulldogs showed off their new adidas home and away uniforms that feature the latest TECHFIT technology. The jersey tops will still feature Mississippi State's traditional home maroon with white trim and road whites with maroon trim. The TECHFIT pants will have three color combos -- maroon and white, white and maroon, and new silver pants with a maroon trim.
The maroon helmets are also getting a thick white stripe to run down the middle of them.
Here are some notes from the school on the new uniforms:
"Our players love the design of these new uniforms, but more importantly they really like the feel and performance of the new material," coach Dan Mullen said. "We're looking forward to showing them off on Sept. 1."
The new uniform material seems to be all the rage with adidas right now. The entire getup is pretty slick, but I'll still have to get used to those strips on the shoulder pads. Texas A&M has a similar look, so I'll need to see both in real time during a game. I am a fan of the Mississippi State banner across the front. It looks pretty nice.

"The new jerseys feature a larger Mississippi State wordmark on the center of the chest with a 'banner' stripe down the arms. Adidas designers brought the banner off the main M-State logo featured on the helmet, and its tapered finish on the compression base layer ties the stripe to the primary mark. Another new addition to the design is an outline of the state of Mississippi just below the neck line on the back of the jersey."
"The new adidas TECHFIT jersey is a complete reconstruction of the standard football jersey with multiple innovations to reduce the weight of the jersey by 30 percent. These technologies include a streamlined fit, new fabric, reduced seams and an ultra lightweight name and numbering system. In addition, the adidas TECHFIT jersey keeps players cool with integrated ventilation zones and moisture wicking fabric. Reduced seams and a restriction-free, high-stretch collar design increases range of motion to support player agility and speed."
