With back-to-back SEC road wins under its belt, Florida has just one more true road game remaining in the conference this season.

The Gators play at Vanderbilt on Oct. 13. They also play their annual game with Georgia in Jacksonville, Fla., on Oct. 27. The rest of their league games are in their Swamp, starting with Kentucky this Saturday.

Georgia coach Mark Richt joked that he doesn’t know how much of an advantage that is for the Gators given how well they’ve played on the road.

“They go to A&M and then to Tennessee back-to-back and play in that type of environment and against that type of environment. I thought it was maybe the most impressive thing that has happened in the country, let alone our league,” Richt said. “They’ve kind of got an attitude where they can go away from home and take care of business.”

Florida, Georgia and South Carolina have all pocketed SEC road wins in the first three weeks of the season, and they’re all three ranked among the top 15 teams in the country.

Richt agrees that this is probably the strongest the Eastern Division has been in some time.

“Everybody kept talking about our schedule and our schedule,” Richt said. “The only thing I kept saying was, ‘Well, let’s wait until the end of the year and see how tough the schedule was.’ Right now, it’s shaping up to be maybe a lot more solid than anybody thought it was.

“I think the East has some very outstanding teams in it. We’re about to play seven SEC games in a row. We’re about to find out what everybody’s about, and they’re about to find out what we’re about. But I’m very impressed with what I’ve seen thus far.”

Georgia avoids No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 LSU this season in the West, while Florida faces LSU at home on Oct. 6 and South Carolina travels to LSU on Oct. 13. The Gamecocks also get Arkansas in the West. But it's been a horrid start for the Hogs, who started the season ranked in the top 10.
