The top three teams in the Big East are looking great. But the rest of the league? The Big East is going to have a tough time getting five teams bowl-eligible. At least that is how it looks to me today.
BCS, Orange, Jan. 1 -- Louisville vs. ACC. The Cardinals had a bye this week.
Russell Athletic, Dec. 28 -- Rutgers vs. ACC. Rutgers moved to 5-0 for the third time since 1976.
Belk, Dec. 27 -- Cincinnati vs. ACC. Cincinnati rolled over Miami (Ohio) as expected.
New Era Pinstripe, Dec. 29 -- Pitt vs. Big 12. I think the Panthers can win four more games, but it's going to be tight.
BBVA Compass, Jan. 5, 2013 -- UConn vs. Conference USA. Of the rest of the group, the Huskies are the only team that needs three wins to become bowl-eligible. Syracuse, USF and Temple need four more. So I am going with the team that has to win the fewest games, but trust me, the Huskies are not inspiring much confidence right now.
Beef 'O' Brady's, Dec. 21 -- No team eligible.
