Five members of the non-AQ appeared in the Associated Press poll, which was released on Sunday.

BYU leads the group at No. 7, its highest ranking since 1996 when the Cougars finished the season No. 5. BYU was able to move up because of Houston’s 45-35 upset of No. 5 Oklahoma State. Houston made its first appearance in the Top 25 since Sept. 15, 1991. Houston is the first team from Conference USA to appear in the Top 25 this season. East Carolina made a brief appearance a year ago.

Boise State moved from No. 12 to No. 10. TCU, which cruised past Virginia, moved one spot to No. 15 and Utah, which struggled against San Jose State, dropped a spot to No. 18.
