Missing since Monday, Texas A&M wide receiver Thomas Johnson was found safely, A&M's University Police Department confirmed.

A spokesman for the police department confirmed to ESPN.com that Johnson was safe and said that more information about his disappearance would be forthcoming.

The true freshman receiver was last seen leaving his residence in College Station at approximately 6 p.m. ET Monday, according to the UPD. His mother, Linda Hanks, visited her son last week, but received a text message Monday that said he had missed class and practice.

While we still don't know exactly what happened, the good news is that Johnson is safe after an emotional couple of days for those in and around Texas A&M's program. Incidents like this always have a way of putting things in perspective. Days after the Aggies upset previously top-ranked Alabama, all of that was nearly forgotten in College Station, as the same players and fans who reveled in such a historic win searched and prayed for one of their own.

Having him back safe is a real relief.
