GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The word around Phoenix all week was Kansas State fans had taken over the town, outnumbering the supporters of their Pac-12 opponent, Oregon, which was traveling to its fourth consecutive BCS bowl and second in three years in Glendale.
Outside the stadium, though, it might be a different story. We'll see how the fan split looks as kickoff approaches, but there's already an energy in the air as fans arrive for this bowl matchup between top-five teams.
Whatever the split, you can expect an amazing atmosphere, just like we saw here last year when Stanford and Oklahoma State went head-to-head in a classic overtime game.
The Big 12 is already 2-0 against the Pac-12 in bowls so far, and both teams who won (Baylor against UCLA, Texas against Oregon State) were underdogs, just like Kansas State will be tonight.
I'm excited for it. You can follow along for in-game tweets right here, and I'll be hanging around before the 8:30 p.m. ET kickoff, too. There aren't many games left before the national championship is played, but this will be the best.
