Time to take a look at the second half of the Big East and where things stand after signing day.
Needs filled: Offensive line, skill players. Memphis signed six offensive linemen -- including two junior college transfers, along with four running backs and two receivers. Running backs Robert Davis and Marquis Warford are among the highest rated in the class.
Holes remaining: Defensive line. You can never have enough depth at this position, but the Tigers signed just one lineman.
Needs filled: Defensive back. The Scarlet Knights brought in five defensive backs, including ESPN 300 prospect Nadir Barnwell, who already is enrolled. They also signed three running backs, a huge area of need with Jawan Jamison gone and backfield depth lacking.
Holes remaining: The class is light on offensive linemen -- though several signed last year. Only one signed Wednesday.
Needs filled: Running back. The top two prospects on the board are running backs -- Everett Dickerson and junior college transfer Traylon Shead, who started his career at Texas. They should provide depth to help fill the void left by Zach Line's departure.
Holes remaining: The Mustangs are losing some key players at linebacker, including Taylor Reed and Ja'Gared Davis, but they signed only two in this class.
Needs filled: Running back and defensive back were areas of need. The Bulls picked up two running backs -- including a flip from Cincinnati -- and six defensive backs. They also did well upgrading the defensive line
Holes remaining: Quarterback. The Bulls signed only one, and don't have much depth at the position with Matt Floyd and Bobby Eveld essentially the only two experienced players returning for 2013.
Needs filled: Temple signed six offensive linemen, which should help add depth at a position that needs it. The Owls also got help along the front seven as well. Linebacker Buddy Brown is a big addition.
Holes remaining: The Owls didn't sign a receiver, a position that is in need of a big playmaker after some major struggles in 2012.
