Rutgers has turned to former dean Carl Kirschner to run its athletic department for a second time, sources confirmed to ESPN.
Kirschner served as interim athletic director for the first time in 2009 and held the title for four months. This time, he will be tabbed interim AD again in the wake of a basketball scandal that has cost athletic director Tim Pernetti his job.
