Maryland quarterback C.J. Brown has been granted a medical hardship waiver and sixth season of eligibility as he works to come back from his second season-ending injury.
Brown is sitting out this spring as he continues to rehab a torn ACL, an injury he sustained during fall practice in 2012. Coach Randy Edsall has said that Brown will be healthy for the start of the season and the team's starter at quarterback. As for his past injury history, Brown broke his collarbone in the season opener in 2010.
The extra year means Brown has two years of eligibility remaining, for 2013 and 2014.
