Fresno State already has one of the toughest travel schedules in the country, and this weekend’s trip to No. 14 Cincinnati has just become a little tougher.
The Cincinnati athletic department announced Tuesday that fewer than 2,000 tickets remain for Saturday’s game against the Bulldogs and that fans are encouraged to wear white in the schools annual “White Out” game.
Saturday’s trip to Ohio is Fresno State’s second trip to that part of the country in the past three weeks. Two weeks ago, the Bulldogs played at Wisconsin and lost 34-31 in overtime. The Bulldogs returned home last weekend lost 51-34 to Boise State. Fresno State is 1-2 on the year.
From Cincinnati, the Bulldogs travel to Hawaii for their first road conference game of the season.
“I think our preseason, I knew it was going to be challenging, but Wisconsin, Boise, Cincinnati are all fine football teams,” Fresno State coach Pat Hill said. “Cincinnati throws a different wrinkle at us than the last two games. We had a power game with Wisconsin, we had very run-pass balanced team with Boise State and this team this week will be a ho-huddle spread team… We get a great challenge, another early kickoff in Ohio. It’s our second-straight top 15 football team we’re playing.”
