For the first time since its inception, the Big 12 doesn't have a team in the top 10 of the Associated Press preseason poll.

And in 63 years of AP preseason poll history, Oklahoma State will start the season ranked ahead of Oklahoma for the first time.

The Cowboys are ranked the highest of any Big 12 team at No. 13. Texas is No. 15, followed by the Sooners at No. 16 and TCU at No. 20.

Baylor received the second-most votes of the teams that didn't make the top 25. If the poll extended out, Baylor would be ranked No. 27 and Kansas State No. 31.

Two-time defending champ Alabama is No. 1, followed by Ohio State, which is coming off an undefeated season. Oregon, Stanford and Georgia round out the top 5.

The SEC led all conferences with six ranked teams, all of which are in the top 12.
