MSU moves practice after gas leak

August, 12, 2014
Football coaches talk all the time about sudden change. The teams that can best handle those moments in games usually come out on the winning end.

Sometimes sudden change occurs during a seemingly straightforward preseason practice. It happened at Michigan State this morning as a construction crew accidentally ruptured a gas line, forcing the Spartans to relocate their workout to nearby Munn Field. The leak forced evacuations at the Skandalaris Football Center and MSU's academic facility.

It might sound easy to move a practice across the street, but there's a lot involved in these sessions, including the equipment.

Fortunately, MSU's support staff came through and practice resumed relatively quickly.

UPDATE: The Spartans eventually had to head indoors to practice because of inclement weather.
