Several folks have asked if Christian Ponder would be in the mix for Heisman if the Noles had started out undefeated. There's no question that if he had consistently played the way he had in the first half, and FSU had gotten off to a better start, Ponder would be getting more national recognition.
That being said, Georgia Tech's defense looks ready to fold. The Noles lead 35-28 at the half, thanks in large part to Ponder's 267 passing yards and four touchdowns -- in a half! No interceptions. Jermaine Thomas is doing a great job with the running game, and that certainly helps. Thomas already has over 100 yards. FSU has 403 yards of total offense already. That doesn't say much for the Jackets' defense.
Florida State clearly came out today with something to prove -- that Bobby Bowden is still their coach and they want to win for him. The burden is on Georgia Tech in the second half to stop them.
