A pretty zany Saturday in the SEC. Auburn got a home run in the ninth inning to edge Mississippi State 3-2. South Carolina outplayed Georgia most of the game and found a way to lose at home, and that's not even to mention the bedlam at the end of Kentucky's escape against Middle Tennessee. Let's pass out a couple of helmet stickers:
Trindon Holliday, PR, LSU: The 5-foot-5 dynamo showed off his world-class speed in LSU's 41-3 rout of North Texas with a 92-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first half. He nearly returned another for a touchdown in the second half when he shook loose for a 59-yard return, setting up a short touchdown run. Holliday finished with 163 yards in punt returns, the second most in school history.
Auburn's defense: Despite being put in several difficult situations, Auburn's defense kept Mississippi State from scoring in an old-school 3-2 win. The Bulldogs' only points came on a safety when Auburn offensive lineman Ryan Pugh was penalized for holding in the end zone in the fourth quarter. Auburn held Mississippi State to 116 yards of total offense and 0-for-14 on third-down conversion attempts.
