Great escapes in Columbia, College Station
By David Ubben
Missouri and Texas A&M trailed in the fourth quarter at home to San Diego State and Florida International, respectively, but both managed wins.
Missouri did it with dramatics, using a 68-yard touchdown on a catch-and-run from T.J. Moe to take the 27-24 lead with under a minute to play.
Florida International had the ball inside the Texas A&M 10-yard-line with a chance to tie after being outscored 21-0 in the fourth quarter, but the Aggies defense made the stop and the save with just over a minute to play for a 27-20 win.
Both teams will wake up happier than they would have, but clearly, the Aggies and Tigers have work to do before conference play kicks off for each in two weeks.
Both Blaine Gabbert (two INT) and Jerrod Johnson (four INT) had poor performances, but lucky for each, it didn't cost them wins.
