Cousins, Treadwell step up on TD drive

By Adam Rittenberg

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Kirk Cousins just led the drive of his life, and Don Treadwell just called the drive of his life.

The quarterback and the play-caller both came up huge as Michigan State marched 84 yards in 15 plays, scoring on a 1-yard Cousins pass to B.J. Cunningham on fourth-and-goal from the 1. Treadwell has shown no fear in making the big decisions Saturday in place of ailing head coach Mark Dantonio, and Cousins is executing extremely well in the second half.

Michigan State converted three huge third-and-long situations on the drive. Most impressive was a screen pass to Larry Caper on an all-out blitz that went for 35 yards on third-and-11.

Mark Dantonio has to be loving this, as Michigan State is poised for a huge win.
