Irish offense responds
By Brian Bennett
Notre Dame didn't even score a touchdown until late in the fourth quarter last week against Stanford.
No such problems this week against Boston College. The Irish went in for a score just four plays into the game and raced out to a 21-0- lead before the first quarter had even expired. The scoring rush finally slowed a bit, but Notre Dame still leads 24-13 at half.
Boston College started true freshman Chase Rettig at quarterback and had to turn to Mike Marscovetra in the second quarter. Clearly, the Eagles are going to have trouble keeping up offensively with the Irish with such inexperience at the most crucial position. If not for a couple of Notre Dame turnovers, this game would already be out of reach.
The Irish are in solid command, but can they actually take control and avoid any late-game drama on the road?
