UCF running away from SMU
By Andrea Adelson
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Not much has changed for UCF or SMU in the Conference USA title game. The Mustangs continue to be stymied on offense. The Knights continue to control the clock.
UCF went up 17-0 at the 6:25 mark of the third quarter when Latavius Murray ran right through the middle of the SMU defense for a 36-yard touchdown. Jeff Godfrey once again showed his escapability on the drive, and also had a few long pass completions as well.
One big reason the Knights are doing so well at controlling the clock -- they are 7-of-9 on third-down conversions. That included one on its latest scoring drive.
SMU had nothing going on its first possession of the half. Leading receiver Aldrick Robinson had his first catch of the game at the 6:11 mark of the third quarter -- a 12-yard catch.
