What's happening to the Bulldogs' defense?
By Edward Aschoff
AUBURN, Ala. -- Mississippi State was supposed to have the defensive advantage over Auburn, especially with Fletcher Cox back in the lineup.
But as the first half winds down, the Bulldogs' defense has been more offensive than anything. Auburn has nearly 200 yards of offense, with 106 of those yards coming on the ground. And the Tigers have 28 points on the board as well.
Last week, the Tigers mustered less than 80 yards rushing against Utah State. The Bulldogs did give up 164 rushing yards to lowly Memphis last week, but they forced four fumbles, recovering two. They also made key stops when they needed to and defended the pass pretty well.
Today, the Bulldogs' defense looks very suspect.
