Broken ankle ends Whaley's season at OU
By David Ubben
Oklahoma running back Dominique Whaley suffered a broken left ankle in the first quarter of today's game against Kansas State.
Kansas State linebacker Arthur Brown fell on the back of Whaley's leg and pinned his ankle underneath him, and the injury looked ugly.
Whaley was taken off the field on a cart, and later returned to the sidelines with a cast and crutches.
That's a big blow for the Sooners, who struggled in power running situations in a loss to Texas Tech last week. Additionally, running backs Jermie Calhoun and Johnathan Miller announced transfers earlier this semester, leaving the position to Brennan Clay and Roy Finch.
The Sooners will have to move on without Whaley, and may find it difficult to do so.
