Odd side effect of weather in Manhattan
By David Ubben
We've seen only a couple of drives and not much action in Saturday's Iowa State-Kansas State game, but here's something to keep an eye on: Iowa State's snaps.
Cyclones center Tom Farniok has already had two on the ground to quarterback Jared Barnett in the shotgun, ending plays before they start. Neither team's quarterback has had an outstanding day throwing the ball, and in a game like this -- low scoring and expected to be close -- one bad snap could change the entire game.
It's cold. It's wet. It's windy in Manhattan, Kan. That's a formula for a hard, slippery football and numb hands.
It's something to keep an eye on throughout the game.
