Non-AQ players earn more awards

Two members of the non-AQ schools earned national awards Wednesday.
BYU quarterback Max Hall was named the Davey O’Brien Quarterback of the Week after his performance against No. 3 Oklahoma. Hall threw for 329 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score in the fourth quarter, to lead BYU to a 14-13 upset win.
Also, the Nassau Sports Commission named Marshall tight end Cody Slate the John Mackey Tight End of the Week.
He had nine catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-28 win against Southern Illinois. He surpassed former MU tight end Sean Doctor for the most receiving yards by a tight end in Marshall Football history. Slate now has 2,126 yards and 21 touchdowns catches in his career.
