Notre Dame Heisman Watch: Week 14
By Matt Fortuna
The last words have been said ...
Manti Te'o, LB: Te'o had one final chance to make a statement Saturday night at USC, and he didn't disappoint. The senior recorded his seventh interception of the season in prime time, lifting the Irish to the national title game. His chief competition for the award, Johnny Manziel, didn't disappoint in his finale, either, throwing for 372 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 67 yards. Barring a ridiculous performance from Collin Klein this weekend, the award likely will come down to Te'o and Manziel. For the season Te'o has 103 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four hurries and two fumble recoveries. At minimum, he likely has wrapped up an invite to New York.
