Louisville working hard to keep Strong
By Chris Low
With Louisville coach Charlie Strong mulling over a lucrative offer from Tennessee, Louisville is doing its best to hold onto Strong.
ESPN's Brett McMurphy reported Wednesday that Louisville is negotiating a contract extension with Strong with the hopes of keeping him. Strong, in his third season at Louisville, interviewed with Tennessee last week and remains at the forefront of the Vols' search.
Yahoo! Sports reported Tuesday that Louisville officials were optimistic that Strong would stay with the Cardinals. But at this point, nothing is for certain.
Another name that had been mentioned prominently in the Tennessee search, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy, has decided to stay at Oklahoma State. Gundy was also in play for the Arkansas job.
