Alabama sets visit to White House

By Edward Aschoff

Mr. Saban is heading back to Washington.

On Monday, Nick Saban and his national championship-winning Alabama Crimson Tide will be at the White House to be recognized by President Barack Obama after defeating Notre Dame 42-14 in the Discover BCS National Championship in January.

It's not like this is foreign territory for the Tide. Alabama will be making its second straight trip to the White House and its third trip in the past four years. This will be Saban's fourth trip to the White House as a college head coach. He went as LSU's coach after the Tigers won the BCS title following the 2003 season.

Alabama was originally supposed to visit the nation's capital in March, but inclement weather forced the team to reschedule its visit.
