For the second straight week, Purdue has come out strong on offense to take an early 10-0 lead at Minnesota. But after four close losses this season, the big question remains, can the Boilers hang on?
It hasn't been totally smooth, but Purdue has converted on 4 of 5 third-down attempts. Quarterback Joey Elliott has made the throws when he needs to, and wideout Aaron Valentin continues a very impressive season with four catches for 56 yards and a touchdown. The Boilers need to keep this up after blowing a 21-3 lead last week against Northwestern.
Minnesota quarterback Adam Weber threw an ugly interception, continuing a very inconsistent season. The Gophers need Weber and the offense to find a rhythm here soon.
