Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo -- who is ranked eighth nationally with nine receiving touchdowns -- will miss Saturday afternoon's game against Wisconsin, according to the university.
Carroo injured his ankle two weeks ago and aggravated the injury last weekend. He was held out of the second half in last Saturday’s 49-7 loss to Ohio State.
The senior wideout has missed quite a bit of time so far this season. He was suspended for the first half of the opener in part because of a missed curfew, and he was then suspended for three weeks following an assault charge that was ultimately dropped. He also missed the fourth quarter against Indiana and the second half against the Buckeyes with injuries.
Despite playing in just 15 quarters, he still leads the Big Ten in receiving touchdowns and is among its top-10 leaders in receiving. He has 24 catches for 527 yards -- for a conference-best 22 yards per catch -- so far this year.
Without Carroo, Rutgers is expected to lean more heavily on Carlton Agudosi, who has 14 catches for 256 yards this season.
Rutgers kicks off its game against Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium at noon. The Scarlet Knights are 3-4 this season.
