Nevada football coaches and players will have their heads shaved Wednesday to raise money for childhood cancer research.
The head shaving is part of a national St. Baldrick’s Foundation event where volunteers shave their heads in solidarity with kids fighting cancer and donations are used to find research.
Nevada coaches involved in the event include associate head coach Ken Wilson, defensive coordinator Andy Buh, defensive tackles coach Barry Sacks, run game coordinator Cameron Norcross and cornerbacks coach James Ward.
Wolf Pack players include John Bender, Doyle Miller, Khalid Wooten, David Jamieson, Joe Easter, Zach Quilici, Malcolm Shepherd and Jordan Mudge.
The coaching staff and members of the football alumni association already have raised more than $1,000 for the event, and fans can donate on behalf of Nevada by visiting its team page on the St. Baldrick’s Web site.
St. Baldrick’s is an organization that has raised more than $74 million since 2000 for childhood cancer research.
