Cater switches back to Orange

If Malcolm Cater develops into a good player, then the storylines will be obvious whenever Syracuse plays Rutgers during his career.

Cater, a linebacker from Long Island, had been committed to Syracuse before switching to Rutgers last month after an official visit. But on signing day, Cater changed his mind again and inked with the Orange.

That has to bring a smile to Doug Marrone's face, as he hopes to get Syracuse back in the business of beating Rutgers on the recruiting trail, especially for New York prospects.

But the news is hardly bad for the Scarlet Knights, who are continuing their late kick.

Running back Casey Turner, who had decommitted in favor of North Carolina, came back to the Rutgers fold on signing day. Turner had also been committed to Florida International at one point. The Scarlet Knights also picked up defensive tackle Kenneth Kirksey, their ninth Florida prospect in this class.

Kirksey had been recruited by Florida State, Miami and Arkansas, but he reportedly had some eligibility concerns.
