No. 1 recruit DeAndre Ayton enrolls at Hillcrest Hoops prep academy

No. 1 and No. 1 are teaming up.

DeAndre Ayton, the top junior in the ESPN 60, has enrolled at Hillcrest Hoops prep academy in Arizona.

Ayton left Balboa City School (Calif.) last week due to unspecified reasons.

Hillcrest is also the home of No. 1 sophomore Marvin Bagley III, who left Corona Del Sol (Ariz.) after his freshman season and enrolled at Hillcrest.

According to The Arizona Republic, this will be the first year Hillcrest has a national high school after only having a post-graduate team last season.

Ayton, a 6-foot-10 center, has schools like Kentucky, Kansas, Arizona, UCLA, North Carolina and San Diego State involved in his recruitment.

Meanwhile, Bagley -- also 6-foot-10 -- saw a long list of coaches at his games during the summer, including Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, Kentucky's John Calipari, North Carolina's Roy Williams and Arizona's Sean Miller.

"It's a blessing that I never saw coming," Hillcrest director of basketball Nick Weaver told The Arizona Republic.

"It's like Tim Duncan and David Robinson from back in the day."

Hillcrest Hoops will a national schedule that includes high school powers Huntington Prep (W.Va.) and Oak Hill Academy (Va.).
