Starting strong safety Shamiel Gary, starting kicker Ian Watts and receiver David Tooley won't be returning to the Wyoming football team, the school announced Friday.

Gary started the first 10 games of the 2010 season before not playing in the final two games of the year because of a death in the family. He has chosen not to return to Wyoming. Gary became the first Wyoming player to win Freshman All-America honors in 2009, when he had three interceptions and 98 tackles. He finished with 94 tackles and one interception in 2010 and was on pace to lead the team in tackles once again before he missed the final two games.

Watts is academically ineligible. He made 8 of 10 field goal attempts and 22 of 24 extra point attempts in 2010. Tooley was suspended indefinitely from the program early in the 2010 season and didn't play.

Coach Dave Christensen also announced a reshuffling of his staff: Mike Fanoga, who had been the outside linebackers’ coach, will now be the director of high school and campus relations for the Wyoming football program. Matt Rahl, who has been the director of recruiting, will retain that responsibility but will now coach the outside linebackers.
