Ohio State commit to take Missouri visit
By Brad Bournival
That was the word of an ESPN 150 running back to Ohio State fans about his upcoming official visit to Missouri.
Ezekiel Elliott (St. Louis/John Burroughs) has been an Ohio State pledge since April 1, and the 6-foot, 205-pound running back isn’t expecting that to change, despite the fact he’s taking an official visit to see the Tigers this weekend.
When asked if he was still a strong commit to the Buckeyes, the senior came back with a strong, “Yes.”
So why the trip?
That’s simple. He’s a Missouri kid in a family filled with Tiger ties.
“It’s one last look at Missouri and showing respect to my home school and to my mother and father’s alma mater,” Elliott said.
The Ohio State coaching staff is aware of Elliott’s visit in this late stage of the game.
As a senior, Elliott amassed 2,533 total yards of offense. The fact 2,153 came on the ground shows how strong a running back he is.
Elliott finished his 100-touchdown high school career with 3,022 all-purpose yards as a senior and backed up a junior campaign in which he scored 42 touchdowns with 50 scores this season.
Elliott also picked up offers from Texas and Texas Tech in the last 24 hours.
The 109th-ranked senior and 11th-best running back also has offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State, Tennessee, UCLA,Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wisconsin.
