Tulane grabs defensive lineman

6-foot-2, 245-pound defensive end Eldrick Washington III (Harvey, La./Helen Cox) has become the second Class of 2013 pledge for Tulane, SportsNola.com reports.

According to Helen Cox head coach Willie Brooks, Indiana, Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Louisiana-Monroe were among the other programs recruiting Washington.

"He really wanted to stay home," Brooks said. "He wanted to play in front of family and friends. He is physical, very athletic but I think the big selling point with him is his strength. His upside is incredible."

"He is a 3.2 honor student as well. He is a four-year starter for us, an all-around good kid. He is very coachable. He comes from a very good family. He will only get better. I am thrilled that we will get to see him grow here in New Orleans."

Offensive lineman Jason Stewart (New Orleans, La./Warren Easton) is Tulane's other verbal.
