Three-star cornerback Hassan Childs (Kissimmee, Fla./Kissimmee-Osceola) committed to N.C. State over the weekend. Childs, who has never visited the school, spoke with the Orlando Sentinel about his decision:
“We talked about it, we prayed about it,” Childs said. “I have a couple friends and family members who thought I should pick N.C. State. A lot of people have been telling me USF but me and my mom thought it’d be best for me to get out of Florida and play somewhere else.”
“By [N.C. State] offering me first, that’s like, `Wow, they had interest in me before anybody did,’” Childs added. “It meant that they thought a lot about me, so that automatically brought my attention to them. I was already leaning towards that way, but then there were other schools who made me look back.”
Childs is commitment No. 15 for the Wolfpack.
