Tight end/defensive end Quinn Thompson (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) committed Thursday to play for the Huskies, the Erie Times-News reports.
"It's a great school with great facilities," he said. "I really like the coaches and I think my biggest opportunity is there for things I want to accomplish. This definitely takes the pressure off and I can focus on my final high school season."
Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green, Buffalo, UMass, Ohio and Temple also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-5, 225-pound prospect.
Thompson rushed or 292 yards and five touchdowns on 30 carries, caught nine passes for 250 yards and six more scores, and recorded 80 tackles and seven sacks as a junior.
UConn now has nine players on board for 2013.
