Jarred Alwan (Cherry Hill, N.J./Camden Catholic), the nation's No. 39-rated inside linebacker, has become the latest recruit to select Temple, according to multiple sources.
Boston College, Massachusetts and West Virginia also extended scholarship offers to Alwan. Other programs including Penn State and Rutgers showed interest. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Alwan was scheduled to visit West Virginia but has cancelled that trip after making his decision.
The 6-foot-1, 225-pound three-star prospect arrived on the scene with a 100-plus tackle sophomore season.
Temple now has nine pledges for 2013. Seven of the nine have been graded by ESPN with six receiving three-star evaluations.
