Houston gets back in the game

Foothill (San Francisco) College safety Kent London committed Friday to continue his career at Houston, Rivals.com reports. He is the first pledge for the Cougars since July.

Florida International, Memphis and Northern Illinois also extended scholarship offers to the 6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect.

London was originally a quarterback in the Class of 2010 from Milpitas (Calif.) High School. Despite limited recruiting attention, ESPN graded London as a high two-star prospect.

ESPN called him, "a pocket passer with the athleticism to make plays with his legs and even be somewhat of a dual-threat when he decides to run or is out of the pocket on the perimeter... should develop and continue to blossom with more experience."

The Cougars have 12 pledges for 2013.
