Clemson lures Priester from NC State

1/20/2013

ESPN 300 wide receiver Kyrin Priester (Snellville, Ga./Brookwood) flipped his commitment from the NC State Wolfpack to the Clemson Tigers following an official visit with Clemson, multiple sources report.

Priester, who was originally committed to Georgia from April into June, has a previously scheduled official visit with Ohio State for next weekend. His other scholarship offers include Purdue, South Carolina, TCU and Vanderbilt.

According to GreenvilleOnline.com, new Clemson defensive backs coach Mike Reed had recruited Priester to NC State before the departure of former head coach Tom O'Brien.

ESPN calls Priester "a wide receiver who combines size, deceptively good speed and elusiveness for a player of his height... For the next level, he has a chance to develop into a weapon for all three levels of the field."

This fall, the 6-foot-1, 181-pound senior caught 56 passes for 1,116 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Clemson's nationally-ranked recruiting class now has 16 pledges.
