Iowa gets back in the game with Truitt

Cornerback Omar Truitt (Washington/St. John's College) committed Monday to sign with Iowa, according to multiple sources, becoming the Hawkeyes' first commitment in two months.

Maryland, Richmond and Syracuse also extended scholarship offers to the 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect. Boston College, Miami (Fla.), Penn State, Rutgers, Stanford, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and West Virginia showed interest.

The Hawkeyes have four players on board for 2014. Their class is highlighted by the nation's No. 1-rated offensive guard, Ross Pierschbacher (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls), an Under Armour All-American and top-50 player in the ESPN 150.
