Four-star outside linebacker James Burgess Jr. (Homestead, Fla.) committed to Louisville on Tuesday night while playing in the Semper Fi All-American Bowl. Burgess was originally slated to play for Miami-Fla., where his father James Sr. played.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Burgess was also offered by Florida, South Florida, LSU, Minnesota, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Illinois and Cincinnati among others.
He was one of the nation's standout linebackers along the combine circuit this offseason, posting a 4.64 40-yard dash, 4.12 20-yard shuttle and 32.8-inch vertical.
Louisville's Class of 2012 now stands at 19.
