Whitehead picks the Wolfpack

Four-star defensive end Kenderius Whitehead (Lithonia, Ga./Martin Luther King) made his commitment via Twitter on Wednesday evening:

“I've decided to play my next four Years of college Football at #NCState. Why? Because its in my heart. # 9 Go #Wolfpack.”

Whitehead, 6-foot-4 and 220-pounds, committed to N.C. State over Clemson and Georgia. The Wolfpack have recruited him long and hard through the process, despite everyone believing that Whitehead would end up in Athens. But Georgia recruited him to play outside linebacker in its 3-4 scheme, and Whitehead wants to play defensive end.

Whitehead is the nation’s No. 30-ranked defensive end and the No. 28-rated recruit from the state of Georgia.

N.C. State now has 21 prospects, with Whitehead being their highest-rated recruit. They also have commitments from four other players from Georgia.
